Fashion Inspired By Art| Pierre Auguste Renior's 'Flower Study'
I've started a new segment on my blog called "Fashion Inspired By Art" where I take an art piece from a random artist and create outfits from them. This week, I picked Pierre-Auguste Renior's 'Flower Study'.
About Pierre-Auguste Renior
Pierre-Auguste Renior's was a French painter born on February 25, 1841 and died December 3, 1919. He was most known for his impressionist style of painting and for being a celebrator of beauty and feminine sensuality.
Characteristics of Impressionist paintings include relatively small, thin yet visible brush strokes and emphasis on depiction of light.
I chose this piece because of the colors in this painting. Fall has already approached where I live and I wanted to incorporate different mix of colors inspired by the changing season.
Outfits Inspired by Pierre-Auguste Renior
I played with pops of color in all three of these outfits because if the painting.
Flower Child
Of course I had to incorporate flowers into one of the outfits I created. The white spots in the painting encouraged me to create a soft feeling ensemble so I used the headband and soft curls to give it an innocent feel. I used a pop of color in the bag as a statement and a nude lip to finish it off.
Forest Green
In this outfit, I tried to incorporate the dark hues at the bottom of the painting so I used a forest green and burnt brown. I picked the orange necklace to use the orange in the painting and give it a fall feel while adding texture with the cheetah flats. To not have too much colors in the outfit, I finished it off with a nude clutch.
Beautiful Bloom
In this last outfit, I used a long wool coat (which is a big trend this fall) and a floppy hat for the fall weather. The full curly hair gave this look a more romantic and feminine feel just like Renoir would've invisioned and a red lip for a pop of color.
