Makeup Essentials for Beginners
Hi Everyone!
I created a list of makeup that beginners or other people that are just starting out with makeup would find helpful. Most of these choices are from the drugstore because if you're a beginner, you don't need to invest in high-end makeup just yet, until you know what type fits your needs. Most of the makeup is from Revlon and Maybelline because I believe those are the best makeup brands in the drugstore in my opinion. Both brands offer a variety of options for every skin tone and every occasion.
For beginners, I would never recommend someone to spend so much on basic makeup products. Once you find out your skin type and what looks best on you, then you can move up to higher, more upscale makeup brands.
Foundation/BB Cream
The difference between a BB cream and a foundation is that a foundation is thicker than a BB cream. Most people tend to were BB creams in the summer months because you don't feel like your foundation is sweating away by the second. This is the foundation and BB cream I would recommend for everyone The Revlon Colorstay foundation has two different types for everyone, normal/dry skin and oily/combination skin. They also offer a plethora of shades for everyone. The Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream claims it does eight things to protect your skin also while protecting your skin.
Concealer
These are the two best drugstore concealers that I've tried to far but I would also recommend the Maybelline Fit Me concealer as well. These both provide great extra coverage for when your foundation doesn't blend the dark spots in very well.
Pressed Powder
Okay yes, I know the Sephora pressed powder is technically considered a "high end" product but I think its still a great product that is a reasonable price for its overall quality. Even though both products are not that far off price wise, a cheaper alternative is the Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder. They both seal and make my foundation last all day.
Mascara
I would honestly recommend any Maybelline mascara is a makeup essential for any beginner or anyone that needs a cheaper alternative to cheaper products. If anyone has tried the Benefit They're Real! mascara, this is definitely a cheaper alternative to it.
Lipstick
My personal favorite type of drugstore lipstick brand is Revlon because they offer different types of shades that complement every skin tone and finishes for everyone. From luster to crème to matte, there is a shade everyone will be in love with. The packaging is also nice, its not too bulky or too big. They're small and compact so you can put it right in your bag.
Brushes
For anyone that does not want to spend a lot of money on brushes, I recommend the Real Techniques or Eco Tools brushes. For a drugstore brand, the quality is actually very nice. Depending on which brush you use, the bristles are good enough quality that it blends everything in nicely.
